Title: robbing the cradle

Spoilers: Nothing really? This fic is an AU that takes place pre-series.
Summary: Henry is an up and coming graphic artist in search of a model for his next novel. He sets his sights on Mike, who declines in large part because of his body’s inappropriate reaction to Henry, who looks like he’s barely eighteen.
Author’s Notes: AU; Henry is human; age difference. Henry is actually 23; Mike is 35. (I used the actors relative ages with some small changes; Kyle Schmid was 23 in 2007 when ‘Blood Ties’ aired, and Dylan Neal was 38. I left Kyle’s age the same and made Henry 23 to account for art school and a couple years post-graduation while he worked on his first graphic novel. I shaved a couple years off of Dylan’s age to make up for the fact that Mike and Vicki are still partners in this story (ie, it takes place several years pre-series). It makes little difference, but it worked for me.) Written for Round 9 of trope_bingo to fill the AU: Mundane square.
Warning: Very brief mention that the case they’re working on involves children being killed. No details.

Summary: Jude and Zero have broken up because Jude doesn’t want to hide their relationship anymore, but when Zero calls with an emergency – someone left a baby she claims is his daughter on his doorstep – Jude rushes over to help and finds himself getting sucked back into Zero’s life. Jude tries to extricate himself, but only manages to sink deeper. Will he and Zero be able to mend things, or will Jude get his heart broken again?
Author’s Notes: Accidental baby acquisition; romance; drama; angst-fluff. Written for Round 6 of smallfandombang/smallfandombang. The title is taken from Jude’s quote in ep 3.05: Everything we’re going through is only gonna make more of us, not less. (I came across this GIF set of that scene just after I finished coding, so I thought I’d include the link.)
